Nexus 320+ £1,595.00
Advanced filtration systems for Koi ponds now with NEW K+Media Evolution Aqua have launched the Nexus320+ and Nexus220+filtration systems. Building on the tried and tested technology that has been ever present in the world renowned Nexus, the team at Evolution Aqua have gone even further to enhance their number one Koi pond filter. The Nexus320+ and Nexus220+ filters now come with a new filter media called K+Media in the moving bed outer chamber for vastly improved biological filtration and faster filter maturation. The new Nexus+ filters are also supplied “auto ready”, with factory fitted fixings already in place, making it even easier to upgrade to the Nexus Automatic Cleaning System.   Maximum pond size: 18,000 litres / 4,000 gallonsRecommended flow rate: 6,000 litres per hourMaximum flow rate: 10,000 litres per hourVolume of water in Nexus: 510 litresAmount of K1 Micro in EAZY: 18 litresAmount of K+Media supplied: 50 litresMaximum amount of K+Media: 150 litres   Maximum pond size: 34,000 litres / 7,500 gallonsRecommended flow rate:11,000 litres per hourMaximum flow rate:13,000 litres per hourVolume of water in Nexus:840 litresAmount of K1 Micro in EAZY:20 litresAmount of K+Media supplied:100 litresMaximum amount of K+Media:300 litres How the Nexus+ Works The Nexus+ filter is an innovative biological and mechanical filter system in one. Water from the pond enters the Nexus+ via the inlet into the inner chamber which works as a vortex allowing larger solids to settle out. The water then passes through Eazy filter, where finer particles are removed at the mechanical stage of filtration, thanks to the static bed of K1 Micro filter media. The mechanically clean water then passes to the outside chamber of the Nexus+ where the new K+Media Moving Bed is located for biological treatment prior to being returned to the pond. At this stage, biological breakdown occurs through different strains of bacteria and filter feeders living on the vast protected surface area of each piece of the K+Media. These bacteria convert Ammonia and Nitrite into less harmful Nitrate. Water then passes through the exit grill into the outlet, returning back to the pond. Nexus+ Dimensions Installing the Nexus+ The Nexus+ MUST be installed on a solid, level base, a minimum of 1.2 metres x 1 metre. Failure to do this will cause irreparable damage to the filter and will therefore invalidate your warranty.   GRAVITY-FED INSTALLATIONS By this we mean that your pump is going to be used to return the filtered water to the pond and therefore your filter will be supplied by gravity via a larger diameter pipe. In this situation the water level in the filter will be at the same level as the pond.  PUMP-FED INSTALLATIONS By this we mean that if your pump is going to be used to supply the water to the filter, and the filtered water then returns back into your pond via gravity, i.e. down a waterfall, or through a large diameter pipe, this is referred to as PUMP FED (i.e. the water is fed to the filter using a pump). In recent years, other plastic media have come onto the market, usually with the aim of trying to get more and more surface area. However, one drawback to using plastic media has always been the time it takes to establish a stable biofilm – essential for good filtration.  After many years of research, Evolution Aqua have now developed a new media that not only gives class leading surface area, but also overcomes the problem of long maturation times. K+Media is designed and manufactured in the UK by Evolution Aqua. This advanced media, with its innovative design, and class leading surface area provides enhanced biological and mechanical filtration.  As Evolution Aqua extrude K+Media, Minerals and Enzymes are added to the raw material. The result of this process, unique to Evolution Aqua, is a filtration media that not only outperforms most of its competitors due to its large protected surface area, but also answers the problem of how to speed up the time taken to mature your filter. Minerals added for faster filter maturation  During the extrusion process, Evolution Aqua add a range of minerals, along with magnesium, calcium, enzymes and salt to the raw material that is used to manufacture K+Media. The result means that K+Media will mature much faster than many other types of media. - The addition of these minerals creates a rough surface on the media. This textured surface has a microscopic honeycomb of peaks and craters that allow waste particles to collect, and nitrifying bacteria to form. - The minerals act as a food source for the bacteria, helping the bacteria to develop and multiply at a faster rate, further improving maturation times. - Calcium alone has proven advantages for developing and maintaining effective bio-films. - The enzymes that are added also help to make the media “sticky” so waste particles can adhere to media easier. - Salt is added during the extrusion process, which is dissolved during the cooling process, leaving a rough surface on which bio-film can easily adhere. Increased surface area  With a new shape and profile, K+Media has also been designed to have an increased and class leading surface area, meaning an overall surface area of 1,350m2 per m3. More importantly for biological filtration, the protected surface area of K+Media is 1,025m2 per m3.  This allows a stable bio-film to form and remain intact when used in moving bed biological filtration, as in the new Nexus+. Stable bio-film development The shape of K+Media optimises the amount of “quiet zones” within the media where a stable bio-film can develop. Whilst K+Media keeps the integral profile of K1 Media at its core, there is an extra layer of cells and fins around the outside of each piece that enable microscopic organisms such as Rotifers and Vorticella to thrive. This is an additional benefit as competitor media do not have such “quiet zones” that would allow these higher lifeforms of filter feeders to develop. The bacteria and organisms that form within the bio-film ensure the media delivers optimum levels of biological filtration in the moving bed, which has been proven filtration technology for many years in the fishkeeping hobby. Use with PURE Pond products  Evolution Aqua also recommend using K+Media in combination with the PURE Pond and PURE+ Filter Start Gel to boost bacteria levels which in turn will stick to the media and speed up the maturation process even more.   Do I need an airpump for NexusPlus? Yes, it powers the moving bed biological filter and is also vital to the cleaning process. You need an Evolution Aqua Air Pump 75 for a Nexus 220 and an Air Pump 95 for a Nexus 320. If you increase the amount of media in the outer chamber you may well need a more powerful airpump. The correct size airpump to enable the filter media to move is detailed in the below: 50 - 75 litres = Use an Air Pump 75 75 - 100 litres = Use an Air Pump 95 100 - 150 litres = Use an Air Pump 130 150 - 300 litres = Use an Air Pump 150

The water then flows around the circumference of the outer chamber of the EazyPod Complete, passing through the stainless steel grill causing many of the larger solids to be filtered out and settle in the base of the outer chamber. This is the first stage of mechanical filtration. As water enters the central chamber, through the stainless steel grill, the fine smaller solids become trapped in the mass of K1 Micro. Bio-films build up on the protected surface area within each piece of media, allowing biological filtration to take place. After passing through the K1 Micro, the clean water then rises and overflows into the inner return pipe and flows back to the pond via the outlet. The EazyPod Complete is incredibly simple to clean. The connected air pump is used during the cleaning cycle to agitate the K1 Micro to free up any debris and waste that has built up within the filter. All EazyPod Complete models are supplied with a 70 litre per minute air pump and accessory kit. GRAVITY-FED INSTALLATION *User modification is required on the EazyPod to enable Gravity Fed installation. By this we mean that your pump is going to be used to return the filtered water to the pond and therefore your filter will be supplied by gravity via a larger diameter pipe. In this situation the water level in the filter will be at the same level as the pond.
EazyPod Automatic
EazyPod Automatic from £769.95
The EazyPod Automatic is a self cleaning, automatic mechanical and biological filter system for garden ponds up to 10,000 litres. A control box fitted to the side of the  filter contains an adjustable timer that initiates a cleaning cycle automatically - even when you’re not there! Overview Inside the control box, the electronic connector blocks control the automated waste valve, along with your circulating pump (not included). It even houses an  air pump that kicks in automatically to clean the K1 Micro media. Crystal clear, healthy water is achieved by the filter which is powered by a static bed of K1 Micro, which also provides enhanced biological benefits too. The Eazypod UV Automatic also features an integrated 18 Watt UVC built in to the inlet section of the filter, helping to clear green water, making this a fully automatic self cleaning filter.     Specifications Model Max Pond Size Ornamental Fish Max Pond Size with Koi Max Feed Rate Volume of water in filter Recommended flow rate Recommended air pump UV-C bulb 10,000 Litres2,200 UK gallons2,640 US gallons 10,000 Litres2,200 Gallons2,640 US Gallons 100 - 125g Per Day 80 Litres18 Gallons21 US Gallons 5,000 Lph1,100 Gph1,320 US Gph Built-In Inside Control Box x 10,000 Litres2,200 UK gallons2,640 US gallons 10,000 Litres2,200 Gallons2,640 US Gallons 100 - 125g Per Day 80 Litres18 Gallons21 US Gallons 5,000 Lph1,100 Gph1,320 US Gph Built-In Inside Control Box 18W PL-L     How the EazyPod Automatic works The concept of the EazyPod Automatic is simple and yet innovative. Water enters via the inlet and passes over an 18 watt UV Clarifying bulb (on UV versions), helping to kill any single celled algae in the water. The water then enters the outer chamber, which runs around the entire circumference of the EazyPod. Between the outer chamber and the inner chamber, there is a stainless steel perforated screen. These perforations are situated in the lower half of the screen and around its entire face. This means that when the water passes from the outer to inner chamber, a downward and upward flow is created. This causes many of the larger solids to settle in the base of the outer chamber, due to the force of gravity. The size of the perforations will not allow large mechanical waste to enter the inner chamber, thus acting as a first stage mechanical filter. The inner chamber holds 18 litres of static K1 Micro media. As the water enters the inner chamber, the fine smaller solids become entrapped in the K1 Micro. After passing through the K1 Micro, the clean water then rises and overflows into the inner return pipe. From here it returns to the pond via the return outlet. The EazyPod Automatic filtration system gives water quality and clarity that surpasses all expectations. The nature and volume of the K1 Micro means, that when static, apart from being a very efficient mechanical filter, there is more than enough surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise. Therefore on a smaller pond, the EazyPod Automatic is an excellent complete filter. Installing the EazyPod Automatic PUMP-FED INSTALLATION ONLY By this we mean that if your pump is going to be used to supply the water to the filter, and the filtered water then returns back into your pond via gravity, i.e. down a waterfall, or through a large diameter pipe, this is referred to as PUMP FED (i.e. the water is fed to the filter using a pump). Cleaning Cycle The K1 Micro is cleaned by the integrated air pump located inside the control box, that is connected to the air line in the EazyPod Automatic, which in turn goes to an air ring in the base of the inner chamber. The air ring has small holes in it which causes the K1 Micro to move and therefore clean itself. During the cleaning cycle, the finer particles escape into chamber from the K1 Micro. This waste water will be automatically dumped via a 1 inch motorised ball valve. Cleaning is fully automated on the EazyPod Automatic, and is controlled by a built-in timer, which is factory set at one clean every 3 days, however, this is easily adjustable to fit in with your pond requirements. The EazyPod Automatic will run a cleaning cycle which lasts approximately 6 and a half minutes.

Evolution Aqua Tempest Polisher Evolution Aqua Tempest Polisher
Evolution Aqua Tempest Polisher £274.95
Innovative Polisher For Ponds   The NEW Tempest Filter is an innovative polishing system for ponds. The Tempest Filter uses our latest filtration media, K+Media, to deliver crystal clear, healthy water. Designed to be used in conjunction with any filtration system, the Tempest Filter offers additional mechanical and biological filtration. The Tempest Filter can be installed on a variety of set-ups and can be used on quarantine systems or as astandalone filter on smaller ponds up to 5,000 Litres / 1,100 Gallons. Independently Tested Filter Media   Using Evolution Aqua’s K+Media as the filter media, particles down to one micron can be filtered. On a single pass, testing has proven our media capable of removing all particles down to 25 micron when used at the optimum flow rate. Not only that, K+Media is the result of extensive research and development and is moulded with minerals for faster maturation times.      Evolution Aqua filter media has been independently tested by Cranfield University and the IFTS (Institut de la Filtration et des Techniques Séparatives). IFTS International Filter Testing Services is the international reference for solid-liquid separation. Founded in 1981, IFTS is an independently regulated, ISO 17025 accredited, laboratory and research center focusing on liquid filtration and separation science. IFTS quality management system is certified to ISO 9001:2015. How The Tempest Filter Works   Water is pumped up through the Tempest Filter. The K+Media moves to the top of the filter, becoming a mechanical barrier that traps debris as it flows through the system. Waste is trapped in the K+Media until the cleaning cycle dislodges it and it gets flushed away. How To Clean The Tempest Filter   The Tempest Filter can be cleaned in matter of minutes, by simply turning the pump off, closing slide valves and opening the waste valve tap.   Specifications   Max Pond Size Inlet Outlet Drain Size Max Flow Rate Optimum Flow Rate Volume of Water in Filter Dimensions Amount of K+Media Supplied 5,000 Litres1,100 UK Gallons1,320 US Gallons 1½” UK / USA50mm EU 1½” UK / USA50mm EU 1” UK / USA32mm EU 7,500 Litres/hr1,650 UK Gallons/hr1,980 US Gallons/hr 5,000 Litres/hr1,100 UK Gallons/hr1,320 US Gallons/hr 27 Litres5.9 UK Gallons7.1 US Gallons 1055mm x 250mm x 205mm 7 Litres Installing the Tempest Filter There are a number of ways the Tempest Filter can be installed on your pond system. Below are some typical installation ideas. PLEASE NOTE: The slide valves fitted to the Tempest Filter allow connection to 1½” pressure pipe. If installing the Tempest Filter using flexible hose you will need to fit a reducing sleeve (EA Code: M35-050) and a 1½” solvent weld stepped hosetail (EA Code: HOSETAIL15) inside each slide valve. To allow the Tempest Filter to give the best performance, it is important that the flow rate is no more than the 5,000 litres per hour. Some of the installation examples show aby-pass that will enable you to increase the flow through the pond.   TYPICAL INSTALLATION WITH A GRAVITY-FED FILTER You can install a Tempest Filter after a primary filter on a gravity-fed set-up, such as the Nexus+, and after a UV Clarifier, such as an evoUV. The slide valves on the Tempest Filter enable connection to 1½” pressure pipe. The installation example shown below has a by-pass that will enable you to increase the flow through your pond while maintaining the optimum flow through the Tempest Filter. Installing ball valves on the pipe work will help you regulate the flow. The return from the Tempest can go back to the centre of your Nexus+ or back into the pond.   TYPICAL INSTALLATION ON A PRESSURISED SYSTEM You can install a Tempest Filter on a pressurised system with a K1 Micro Bead, Nexus+, EazyPod. The return from the Tempest and the K1 Micro Bead go back to the pond.   TYPICAL STANDALONE TEMPEST FILTER INSTALLATION   You can install a Tempest Filter on a quarantine system, or a standalone pond up to 5,000 litres, at the side of a pond or above the pond. The slide valves on the Tempest Filter enable connection to 1½” pressure pipe. If installing the Tempest Filter using flexible hose you will need to fit a reducing sleeve (EA Code: M35-050) and a 1½” solvent stepped hosetail (EA Code: HOSETAIL15) inside each slide valve. TYPICAL SKIMMER LINE INSTALLATION   You can install a Tempest Filter on a skimmer line. The slide valves on the Tempest Filter enable connection to 1½” pressure pipe. If installing the Tempest Filter using flexible hose you will need to fit a reducing sleeve(EA Code: M35-050) and a 1½” solvent stepped hosetail (EA Code: HOSETAIL15) inside each slide valve.   MODULAR TEMPEST FILTER INSTALLATION   On larger systems that require a higher flow rate, multiple Tempest Filters can be installed in a modular system. It is important that each Tempest Filter can be isolated using the slide valves so that cleaning can be carried out independently. Although on the installation diagram below we show two filters into one return line, independent return lines will allow you to observe the flow rate through both Tempest Filters and balance accordingly.   Dimensions   New advanced filtration media Plastic media, for use in biological pond filters - specifically in moving bed bio reactors, was pioneered by Evolution Aqua, some 20 years ago.
Evolution Aqua Surge Filter
Evolution Aqua Surge Filter £299.95
Innovative Pond Filter with UVC The Surge Filter is an innovative filter that will help to deliver crystal clear, healthy water for ponds up to 5,000 Litres. There are no dirty sponges or foams to clean so you get to keep your hands dry, giving you more time to enjoy your pond. Key Features  Keep your hands dry - Foam free, easy self-cleaning technology. More time to enjoy your pond - Reduces filter cleaning and maintenance. Crystal clear and healthy water - Enhanced filtration with K+Media and integrated UVC. How it works? As pond water is pumped up through the Surge Filter the K+Media becomes a mechanical barrier that traps debris as it flows through. Waste particles remain trapped within the K+Media until they are dislodged and flushed away during the patented Air Clean Technology cleaning process. How it cleans? Air Clean Technology uses open cell K+Media and air to clean the filter providing a low energy and cost-effective solution. With the pump off, ball valves closed, and waste valve open, air is drawn into the filter. As air and water mix inside the filter, the media starts to move chaotically, dislodging the trapped waste. Dirty water then exits the bottom of the filter via the waste line, leaving clean media. There are no dirty sponges or foams to clean so you get to keep your hands dry, giving you more time to enjoy your pond.
Nexus Automatic System Nexus Automatic System
Nexus Automatic System from £549.95
Make Nexus the automatic choice Continuing our long standing reputation for innovation, the Nexus Automatic System now enables Nexus owners to benefit from a fully automated cleaning cycle on their multi award winning Nexus filtration systems. Physically turning ball valves and manually switching pumps on and off will now be a thing of the past thanks to the Nexus Automatic System. All of the key processes that form the cleaning cycle are now controlled automatically with this easy to install kit. Gravity Fed Setups Pump Fed Setups Overview The Nexus Automatic System can be installed on Nexus 220 and320 filters manufactured after 2006, whether on gravity-fed orpump-fed installations. The kit includes a control box which connects up to an automatedwaste valve, airpump control box and an automatic inlet slide plate(for gravity fed models only). Once installed and connected to yourpond pump and mains power the system will carry out cleaningcycles at timed intervals or when pressing the manual clean button.   Cleaning Cycle The Nexus Automatic System will control the cleaning cycle fully automatically. Cleaning is done on a timer, which is factory set to clean once every 3 days, however, this is easily adjustable to fit in with your pond requirements. The Nexus Automatic System will run a cleaning cycle which lasts approximately 10 minutes. Gravity Fed Cleaning Cycle ■ Adjustable timer kicks in to start a cleaning cycle. ■ Control box automatically switches circulating pump off. ■ The water level in the Nexus equalises. ■ Inlet valve closes whilst at the same time air is diverted from the outer bio chamber to the EAZY to clean the media. ■ After the media has been cleaned, the waste valve opens. ■ EAZY is drained to waste and inlet valve opens for a final flush of the EAZY. ■ The waste valve closes. ■ Air is diverted back from the EAZY to the bio chamber. ■ Circulating pump is switched back on. ■ Nexus returns to filtration mode. Pump Fed Cleaning Cycle ■ Adjustable timer kicks in to start a cleaning cycle. ■ Control box automatically switches circulating pump off. ■ The water level in the Nexus equalises ■ Air is diverted from the outer bio-chamber to the Eazy to clean the media. ■ After the media inside the Eazy has been cleaned, the automated waste valve opens. ■ Eazy is drained to waste. ■ The automated waste valve closes. ■ Air is diverted back from the Eazy to the biochamber. ■ Circulating pump is switched back on. ■ Nexus returns to filtration mode.removed if needed with the K1 Micro in place. This added feature is ideal when undertaking further maintenance. The generally accepted practice is that when you keep ornamental fish, whether in a pond or in an aquarium, to keep the water fresh, 10% of the volume of the water in the pond/aquarium should be changed on a weekly basis. With this in mind, we recommend that you set your Nexus Automatic system to run a cleaning cycle so as to exchange water in line with this.general parameters of our ponds is turn over rate. This is the time that it takes for the total volume of the pond to pass through the filter system once. We recommend that for ideal performance a turn over rate of every 2 to 3 hours is found to be best.

Cetus Sieve Cetus Sieve
Cetus Sieve from £62.85
Pre-filter to remove waste & debris The Cetus sieve is a bow screen pre-filter, made using the latest rotational molding technology. With all of its benefits and build quality, it is undoubtedly the best of its kind on the market today, regarding quality and performance! It is designed to efficiently and effectively remove large amounts of mechanical waste from a pond. It can be set-up gravity OR pump fed and has many benefits over the original bow screen technology. Overview The Cetus Sieve is a self-adjusting sieve which can be installed either gravity fed or pump fed. The Cetus Sieve enables your pond water to be filtered of large amounts of waste and debris before the water enters your current filter system. This process is commonly referred to as “pre-filtering”. The Cetus Sieve can also be used as a stand-alone unit to remove leaves and other floating debris from your pond via a surface skimmer. The Cetus Sieve will efficiently and effectively remove large amounts of mechanical waste from your pond. The Cetus Sieve is compatible with all filtration systems, however it is the perfect prefilter for the Evolution Aqua Nexus filter range. For gravity fed systems the Cetus Sieve has a weir which will automatically adjust to the flow rate of your pump. (Max flow rate 18,000 litres/hr) When the Cetus Sieve is used in front of any other biological/mechanical filter the period in between cleaning will be extended. The biological process is improved by the removal of organic matter which would consume oxygen and leach ammonia and other compounds into the water. This allows water levels within the pond to drop without causing the circulating pump to be starved of water. The Cetus will allow a skimmer or a bottom drain to accept vast amounts of waste without excessive cleaning needed to be carried out. The water must then be pumped to either a normal filter above pond level (Nexus Eazy/Eazy Pod) or to a pressurised filter. If pump fed, the sieve is placed above pond water level and then the exit water is gravity dropped into your main filter. The Cetus sieve is a bow screen pre-filter, suitable for pre-filtration of any biological filter including all pressured filters. It is advised that all pressurised filters be pre-filtered using a Cetus to reduce excessive backwashing and maintenance due to heavy solids.
