Feeding Guide
Feed 2-4 times per day depending on fish size and water temperature and no more than the Koi eat within 5 minutes.
The smaller the Koi, the more often they need feeding.
The more you feed, the more waste the Koi will produce, resulting in more water changes/filter cleans required.
Optimum growing temperature is 23c.
Remove uneaten feed from the pond in case of overfeeding.
At water temperatures below 10c Koi have a reduced appetite and slow digestion, therefore feed accordingly.
Don't feed Koi if the water temperature is below 5c.
Pellet Size Guide
As a rule of thumb, a Koi over 4 inches (10cm) will be able to eat a 3mm pellet. A 6-inch (15cm) Koi will be able to eat a 4.5mm pellet and a 16-inch (40cm) Koi will be able to eat a 6mm pellet. Please see the chart below for a complete sizing guide.

Fry Food
from £15.00
Our Fry Food is fed to over 500,000 Koi Fry every year at Cuttlebrook Koi Farm, the UK's leading breeder of Koi Carp. Every fish we produce has been fed this food during their development, giving them the perfect start in life.
Crushing up food to feed your fry?
Feeding your fry crushed-up food (even “high protein” diets) can have a detrimental impact on the growth of your Koi fry. Most used feeds on the market contain around 33-40% protein, however, this is inadequate for the needs of developing fry, regularly leading to bent spines, tails, curled-out gill covers, and incorrectly developed fins. Our Fry Food contains 56% protein.
High-quality food is a must
To avoid any development issues, high-quality fry food is a must! We advise feeding this diet until the fish are at least 3” inches. Even after this stage, a high-quality diet of at least 40% protein is still required to ensure the best growth and development from your fish.
Pellet Size Guide
As a rule of thumb, a Fry between 0.5-1.5 inches (1-3cm) will eat 0.5-0.8mm Fry Food, and a larger Jumbo Fry between 1.5-2 inches (3-5cm) will eat 0.8-1.2mm Fry Food. Please see the chart below for a complete sizing guide.

Koi Fry Mix (1")
from £40.00
SOLD OUT. New stock expected July 2025.
This batch of Fry is a random selection from the following varieties:
You will get a random mix from the list above, and there is no guarantee you will get one of everything. If you want to order specific mixes, we recommend you buy our larger Small Koi Mixes, where this option is available.
Please note Fry orders MUST be shipped for arrival on Wednesday or Friday. Fish are scheduled to arrive between 7:00am and 2:00pm, and you MUST be in to sign for the fish (Koi delivery is £29.95). Collection must be made on either Friday or Saturday.
Fry have been acclimatised from the mud ponds, however, we advise you salt the tank/pond where you put the fry to 0.75% to help them acclimatise to their new environment. Hold the salt at this level for 1 week, then slowly bring it down with your regular weekly water changes.
They need a suitable tank or pond away from larger fish, good filtration and water quality is essential. Fry are delicate and will not cope with poor water parameters so please ensure you have adequate filtration systems to cope. Once you have received delivery or collected, it is your responsibility to provide a good quality environment big enough for these to grow on.
Koi are measured from the tip of their nose to the end of the tail. Please note sizing of fry is approximate.
Fry Food:
Orders with 'YES' to food will come with 700g of Fry Food, this is the same food they are already eating on the farm. The food size will be appropriate to the Koi Fry you are buying.
Are you crushing up your food to feed to your Koi fry? Do you know the impacts this will have?
Feeding your fry crushed-up food (even “high protein” diets) can have a detrimental impact on the growth of your Koi fry. Most commonly used feeds on the market contain around 33-40% protein, however, this is inadequate for the needs of developing fry, regularly leading to bent spines, tails, curled out gill covers and incorrectly developed fins.
Our fry food, which we use each year to raise around 500,000 fry, contains 56% protein. Not only does this specific fry food have a higher protein content, but it also has higher vitamin and mineral levels to aid the fry in bone development.
To avoid any development issues, high-quality fry food is a must! We advise feeding this diet until the fish are at least 2” inches. Even after this stage, a high-quality diet of at least 40% protein is still required to ensure the best growth and development of your fish.

Fluke-Solve PLUS 100g
£64.95
100g pack - suitable for treating 25,000L (5,500 gallons)
Fluke-Solve Plus® has been specially developed to target resistant flukes in fish.
Contains active ingredients praziquantel, nitroscanate and emamectin benzoate for rapid dissolving and dispersion
Suitable for both freshwater systems
Safe with biofilters and plants
For use in ponds containing koi carp exclusively. Can be harmful to Sturgeon and Goldfish.
Extensive research has resulted in the creation of Fluke-Solve Plus®, a specially developed product for the treatment of the resistant flukes which are now causing serious problems in koi. Fluke-Solve Plus® uses a combination of the proven technology of Fluke-Solve® (praziquantel) with new active ingredients (nitroscanate and emamectin benzoate). The special formulation of praziquantel, which easily and rapidly dissolves in ponds and tanks, combined with nitroscanate and emamectin benzoate, means you can see it dispersing through the water as soon as you add it to your pond or tank. It is suitable for both freshwater and marine systems, including in the presence of salt when added as a therapeutic. Fish can be fed normally during treatment. Fluke-Solve Plus® is safe with biofilters and plants.
How to use/dosage
Use at a rate of 4g powder per 1,000 litres (220 gallons) of pond or tank water. Simply take a clean container of the pond or tank water and add the required dosage of Fluke-Solve Plus® to it, then stir. Immediately add this stock solution to the pond or tank, and then rinse out the container with the pond or tank water and add that as well. If necessary, a separate tank can be used to treat the fish for a treatment period of at least 48 hours. Turn the UV off for 7 days post treatment. Take care to turn off skimmers while it is in use since they will remove the praziquantel from the water, as will modern filtration systems which use carbon derivatives or other adsorbent materials and some drum filter technologies. In the case of some rare resistant egg-laying flukes repeat the initial dose after 3 weeks to ensure the active ingredients are in the water long enough to kill any hatching fluke larvae and break the cycle of infection.

Pure Pond is the Award Winning bacterial product that helps to maintain crystal clear and healthy pond water.
For best results add the PURE POND balls into a filter bag and place in the biological section of your filter in an area of water flow.
500ml of PURE POND will treat a pond up to 10,000 litres (2,200 UK Gallons).
PURE POND are biodegradable balls, crammed full of live bacteria and enzymes that when added to your pond filter get to work breaking down Ammonia and Nitrite, whilst cleaning up organic waste.

It successfully treats skin and gill flukes (Monogenean species), eye flukes (Diplostomum species) and intestinal tapeworms, even by immersion, and can be used in a wide range of fish including Koi Carp and Goldfish.
It is suitable for both freshwater and marine systems, including in the presence of salt when added as a therapeutic, and is even effective from 3°C. Fluke-Solve® is safe with biofilters and plants, as well as shrimp, snails and frogs, and can even be used to treat parasites on shrimp.
Flukes belong to the group of parasites known as Monogean trematodes. The most common kind affecting pet fish are the Dactylogyrus and Gyrodactylus species. Cestodes or tapeworms are internal parasites which affect a wide variety of fish species including Koi Carp, as well as aquarium fish such as discus.
How to use/dosage
Use at a rate of 4g powder per 1,000 litres (220 gallons) of pond or tank water. Simply take a clean container of the pond or tank water and add the required dosage of Fluke-Solve® to it, then stir. Immediately add this stock solution to the pond or tank, and then rinse out the container with the pond or tank water and add that as well. If necessary, a separate tank can be used to treat the fish for a treatment period of at least 24 hours.
Take care to turn off skimmers while it is in use since they will remove the praziquantel from the water, as will modern filtration systems which use carbon derivatives, or some drum filter technologies.
The praziquantel in Fluke-Solve® will persist in a pond or tank for at least 3 weeks, so in the case of some egg-laying flukes repeat the initial dose after 3 weeks to ensure the active ingredient is in the water long enough to kill any hatching fluke larvae and break the cycle of infection.

HI-707-25 Nitrite Low Range Checker (0-999 ppb) spare reagent 25 tests.
£24.00
Reagent for HI -707 Nitrite Marine Low Range Pocket Checker
This reagent is for use with the HI-707 nitrite low range pocket checker and provides enough for 25 tests.
The HI-707-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Nitrite Low Range Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Diazotization Method in which the reaction between nitrite and reagent causes a pink tint in the sample. By simply adding the packet of HI-707-25 reagent to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-707 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppb of nitrite. These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0 to 600 ppb nitrite.
Tip for an accurate measurement
It is important that the sample does not contain any debris.
Whenever the cuvette is placed into the measurement cell, it must be dry outside and completely free of fingerprints, oil or dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with HI-731318 or a lint-free cloth prior to insertion.
Shaking the cuvette can generate bubbles, causing higher readings. To obtain accurate measurements, remove such bubbles by swirling or by gently tapping the cuvette.
Do not let the reacted sample stand for too long after reagent is added, or accuracy will be lost.
After the reading, it is important to discard the sample immediately, otherwise the glass might become permanently stained.

HI-700-25 Reagents for HI-700 Ammonia Pocket Checker
£28.44
This 25 pack of reagents is for use with the HI-700 Ammonia Low Range Pocket Checker.
The HI-700-25 are high-quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate measurements with their Ammonia Checker® HC. These reagents follow the Nessler Method in which the reaction between ammonia and reagents causes a yellow tint in the sample. By simply adding 4 drops from each bottle of HI-700-25 reagent set to the sample, the reaction will take place and the HI-700 will determine the concentration from the colour that is produced. The results will be displayed in ppm (mg/L) of ammonia-nitrogen (NH3-N). These reagents are designed to be used with samples that have an expected range of 0.00 to 3.00 ppm ammonia-nitrogen. To convert the reading to ppm of ammonia (NH3) multiply the result by 1.214.

PLEASE NOTE:
In some cases, samples may contain other parameters which may interfere with results
Interference may be caused by:
Bromine, Iodine, Ozone, Oxidised forms of Chromium and Manganese. In case of water with hardness greater than 500 mg/L CaCO3, shake the sample for approximately 2 minutes after adding the powder reagent. If the water used for this procedure has an alkalinity value greater than 250 mg/L CaCO3 or acidity value greater than 150 mg/L CaCO3, the colour of the sample may develop only partially, or may rapidly fade. To resolve this, neutralise the sample with diluted HCl or NaOH.
